This is the Dion Money Collection. The money was created over a span of five years (1987 through 1992). There are at least 118 known examples of Dion Money. Each one is unique and some commemorate people and places but most were simple expressions of desperation.

The money is described as “magic touch” because if you mouse over an individual dollar it will change to a colorful alternate version. On an iPhone, iPad or other smart device, you can simply touch the dollar to see the magic transformation. Note, if you hold your finger down too long it may link to the full-size version of the dollar instead of transforming.

In a similar vein, there are the Nine Tree Oracle Cards that may also be described as folk art. The cards are collages and have a whimsical appearance.
